Founded seventy years ago, Plan is a child centred community development charity organisation with no political & religious connections, enabling communities & families from the poorest countries in the world make lasting improvements to the lives of their children.

Plan work in sixty two countries on projects that address the causes of poverty and the consequences for children's lives. In the countries where Plan work 1 in 5 children die before the age of 5, and the children who survive often go hungry and have no chance of learning to read & write.

Plan works with the children, their parents, and the community to plan practical ways to provide the things we take for granted, so that together they can build schools, get nurses educated, drill wells & help families support themselves.

Plan's work is possible because of the many people across the world supportuing them through sponsoring children. In doing this they benefit many other children & entire communities. Plan is also helped by the UK government's department of international development, the European union & governments worldwide.
