Sight Savers work to combat blindness in developing countries, restoring sight through specialist treatment & eye care, around the world 45 million people have lost their sight. Sight Savers also support people who are irreversibly blind by providing counselling, education and training. Sight Savers help people who need it most including those living in poverty in some of the world's poorest countries. For 50 years Sight Savers have been restoring sight & improving the lives of people who are irreversibly blind in poor countries around the world.

For someone who is blind, the gift of sight is the greatest thing of all. Sight Savers believe that sight is a basic human right and that everyone including those in the world's poorest countries should have access to the treatment & eye care that they need. Sight Savers work is important because as well as providing treatment that can help to restore sight they also assist with the rehabilitation of those who are irreversibly blind, thereby helping them to make a better life for themselves.
