The Medical Foundation
The Medical Foundation for the care of victims of torture is a registered charity since 1985 that treat and assist over 4000 survivors of torture every year offering a range of services unique to the UK. The Medical Foundation relies on the generosity of supporters to keep it going, over 80 percent of every £1 donated goes directly into the care & treatment of people who have experienced horrific physical & mental torture.
The Medical Foundation aims to; provide survivors of torture in the UK with medical assessment & care, practical assistance & psychotherapeutic support / treatment, document evidence of torturing, provide training for health professionals working with torture victims, educate people & decision makers about torture and the consequences, ensure that the UK honours its international obligations towards survivors of torture, refugees & asylum seekers.
